Anti-Bullying
“ We are committed to providing a caring, friendly, and safe environment for every student. Together, we must take responsibility to achieve this. All reports of bullying will be acted upon promptly and will not be tolerated. If you experience or witness any form of bullying, do not ignore it — we must all be upstanders, not bystanders. ”
Miss Walker is our Anti-Bullying Lead. The Anti-Bullying Lead has responsibility for coordinating the school’s approach to preventing, recording, responding to, and reviewing all incidents of bullying. The role ensures that the school community promotes a safe, respectful and inclusive culture where bullying is not tolerated, and where pupils feel confident to seek support.
Miss Walker is supported in school by a team of Anti-Bullying ambassadors. The Anti-Bullying Ambassadors are a team of student leaders who meet every two weeks to discuss bullying topics, share ideas, and plan ways to make our school a kinder place. They create displays and resources, raise awareness through the school’s Facebook page, and lead campaigns to promote respect and inclusion. Ambassadors are also approachable role models that other students can go to if they are worried about bullying; they listen and pass concerns on to staff so they can be dealt with quickly. Together, they play an important role in preventing bullying and making sure every student feels safe and supported. You can recognise anti-bullying ambassadors within school by their green ‘Anti-Bullying Ambassador’ badge. Students should speak to Miss Walker if they are interested in becoming an anti-bullying ambassador.
Our school takes a proactive approach to preventing bullying by creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for everyone. We hold regular assemblies to raise awareness and highlight the importance of kindness, as well as run “theme of the week” discussions in tutor time that focus on current issues which may lead to bullying. Each year, we celebrate Anti-Bullying Week with a variety of activities that encourage respect, empathy, and teamwork across the whole school community. Our Personal Development curriculum also addresses bullying behaviour directly, helping students to understand its impact and learn positive ways to resolve conflict. Above all, we promote kindness, celebrate diversity, and encourage inclusion so that every student feels valued and supported.
